Dahlia Sale Policy

Thank you for shopping with us! Please read our Dahlia Tuber Sale Policy carefully, as it outlines important information regarding shipping, returns, satisfaction guarantees, and dahlia virus.

1. Shipping Information

  • Processing: Orders are fulfilled in the order they are received and begin shipping end April - early May, weather permitting. We cannot ship dahlia tubers until all danger of frost has past.
  • Shipping Methods: We use use Canada Post to deliver your dahlia tubers. Shipping methods and costs will be displayed at checkout based on your location.
  • Shipping Costs: Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on the weight of your order and your shipping address. Shipping fees are non-refundable unless combining orders as described below.
  • Combined Shipping: We will combine orders being shipped to the same individual and mailing address only. Each subsequent order will incur a $5 handling fee per order; please ensure that the same name and mailing address is entered. Combined orders will be refunded the difference.
  • International Shipping: We offer shipping within Canada only. International shipping is not available at this time.
  • Delayed Shipments: While we aim for timely delivery, please note that once an order leaves our facility, shipping delays may be caused by factors beyond our control (e.g., weather, holidays, etc.). We are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier.

2. Returns and Exchanges

  • Non-Returnable Items: Due to the nature of our dahlia products (live plants and tubers), we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. Please make sure to check your order carefully before finalizing the purchase.
  • Damaged or Incorrect Orders: If your dahlia tubers arrive damaged or if you receive the wrong product, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your package. Email us photos of the issue and we will contact you with a solution.
  • Refunds due to stock shortage: If, due to unforeseen circumstances, we cannot fulfill your order, we will contact you by email to refund your unfulfilled items. We do not offer credit or replacements the following year. 

3. Satisfaction Guarantee

We guarantee our dahlia tubers to viable, with at least one eye or sprout. We work hard throughout the season to properly tag each plant and ensure each dahlia is true to variety. 

When you receive your tubers, please store them in a cool (not freezing), dry place and follow the instructions for planting that will come with your order. 

Once the tubers leave the farm, we cannot be held responsible for improper storage, weather, temperature exposure, growing conditions, pest damage, plant performance, etc.

4. Planting & Care Instructions

To ensure the best chance of success with your new dahlia tubers, please follow the planting and care instructions provided with your order. We cannot guarantee the outcome of your plants due to factors beyond our control, such as soil conditions, weather, and care routines.

5. Dahlia Virus

We sanitize our tools with a 10% bleach solution when cutting between plants and dividing tubers. Any plants that appear viral or are growing poorly are removed from the field and destroyed. We check our field often, and cull suspicious plants throughout the season. However, we do not test our plants for virus. We grow our dahlias outdoors, not in a closed laboratory. So we cannot guarantee tubers that are virus free, by purchasing our tubers, you agree to accept this risk. We do not offer refunds due to virus.

According the the American Dahlia Society, the majority of dahlias carry at least one virus based on 2022 testing
